- This was the first Topps basketball set.
- First Basketball card set of standard trading card size.
- Card #69 features Ron Sobie who altered his name from Ron Sobieszczyk after high school. The Chicago native attended St. Bonaventure Prep School in Sturtevant, Wis., and scored 520 points in 24 games as a senior in 1951-52 for an average of 21.7 ppg. He went on to star at DePaul before playing in the NBA.
