I was looking at your list of 1997 finest baseball cards and noticed that your list states that card #172 is Jay Buhner. When I checked the accompanying photo it showed Jay Buhner was #164. Could it be that no #172 was ever issued and that 2 #164s were issued instead - 1. Jeff Conine and 2. Jay Buhner? Could someone please check into this? Thanks. Larry Fellerman | ||
I just never understood the love of Topps Finest. The pictures obscured by a wrapper and really not much to see. To me this concept was better suited as an insert set. I think that they were collected because they were expensive and thus it was assumed valuable. I'd rather have a common of any player from a budget or base set than this one. That is just my opinion though as obviously these were a hit. |
