The Platinum sets were issued in 9-card player sets, distributed in 9-card plastic pages, limited to 1000 sets (each issued with an 8.5" x 11" numbered certificate). For every 5 sets ordered, Star would send 1 (non-numbered) promo card of that player, limiting the promo cards available to only 200 (this fact is noted on the reverse of each promo card).
Dealers that completed the 12-set allotment also received specially-made 1" slant D-ring binders, also with custom-printed sheet protectors. The binders for the Platinum series were gray with purple lettering and the sheet protector was translucent white with matching purple lettering.
