The silver ink is the correct and authentic pack pulled style. (Beckett is wrong) Bobby Allison was suppose to never sign any more cards in silver ink to distinguish it as a pack pulled autograph. Unfortunately, some dealers (I mean collectors) have had Bobby sign some cards after 1991. I have 2 authentic autograph cards and both were packed pulled silver ink. In 1991, Pro Set did not create a specific card for the autograph and just used a common card. All card makers are much wiser now.
I've only seen three of these, and all were signed in silver.
Beckett says this card should be signed in black...but I pulled this card in silver ink (paint pen, really) from a factory sealed box, still in the Pro Set shrink wrap. |
