It is hard to differentiate a mostly-covered Cubs cap/uniform from a Reds cap/uniform of the same era. On this Exhibit card, we can see a "2" on the back of the uniform. Hank Sauer was #29 on the Reds, and was #43 and then #9 on the Cubs, so we know he is in his Reds uni in this photo, and thus must be classified as a Red. |
