Once again, Topps makes all the fun, Hall of Famer, cards short prints, which I refuse to collect. That makes this set way less appealing that just a few years ago, when HOFers were interspersed throughout, with additional short prints. Plus, this year seems heavier on rookie cards just for the sake of rookie cards.
The design is also poor, with modern elements on the front that take away from the throw-back feel. And the position of the player looks like a team logo -- especially the P for pitchers (looks like Pittsburgh) and the C for catchers (looks like Chicago, or Cleveland). The player's position shouldn't be highlighted much more than the team. They should be reversed in importance than they are.
I still like the concept of these cards, but I'm seriously discontinuing my habit of getting this (short) set every year. Maybe I'll switch to A&G?
Sigh.
