1981 Topps are the first packs I remembered opening. I was caught up in “Fernandomania” and wanted his card. From that point on I was hooked on collecting. It was to my fathers delight as it reminded him of collecting when he was a kid. While 1981 Topps isn't regarded a great set, it will always be one to me.

My favourite set - started collecting cards with '81 Topps as a 10 year old with memories of my parents and I vacationing in Ogonquit, Maine and I scrounged empty pop cans for deposit coins to put together enough for packs.

My first memory pull was Bob Welch !

An absolutely beautiful set. Being in SoCal during the height of "Fernando Mania" was an awesome experience and when I pulled his RC I thought I had died and gone to Heaven. Not the first set I put together, (1979) but probably the best set I put together. The HOFers, the Rookies, the traded sets...awesome times and a great memory for me...
