Set: 1994 Donruss (Rate)

Card: #302 Doug Strange

“ Love that proto-typical line drive to center batting pose as the batter is making his way out of the box. ” -flcardtrader

“ Unlike most of my tradingcarddb brethren, I like a lot of mid-1990s designs, and this is one of them. It's got the logo, great full-bleed photography, and a big photo on the back. (I haven't relied on backs of cards for stats since before they invented this little thing called the Internet.) ” -Dave Sosidka

“ Nice design. Large, clear pictures are good. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ No one remembers your name, when you're Strange, when you're Strange, you're Doug Straaaaange... ” -UNC_Samurai

“ I like the home whites on the front and road grays on the back. ” -jlaz10

“ I like the front, but wish the back had less picture and more stats. ” -jupiterhill

“ This card looks strange... ” -SaveDaKid

Set: 2006-07 Upper Deck Victory (Rate)

Card: #157 Sidney Crosby

“ Crosby was drafted 1st overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins during the 2005 NHL Draft. Career Stats: 550 Games, 274 Goals, 495 Assists and 769 Points. He is a 4x All-Star, 2x Art Ross Trophy, 2x Lester B. Pearson/Ted Lindsey Award, 2x NHL First All-Star Team, Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy, Hart Memorial Trophy and Stanley Cup Champion in 2009. He has also won two gold medals with Team Canada in 2010 in Vancouver and 2014 in Sochi. ” -carthage44

“ Kind of interesting to see Sid wearing the "A" instead of the "C" on his sweater. Speaking of sweaters, I always liked how this version made use of the skating penguin and the pigeon-like penguin on the shoulders. ” -Gunny

" I'm whinner my mommy says I'm special.....I won the cup even though so that makes me a winner.....wah.....wah....I have more Stanley Cup titles than Eric Lindros my idol of being the biggest whinner in NHL history " -I HATE CROSBY

“ Interesting that they include a pronunciation chart on the back of the card. Some players have complex names that aren't pronounced as they are written so I could see that being very handy. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Looks like he's skating thru the halls of the rebel ship that Darth Vader and the stormtroopers board in the opening scene of Star Wars. ” -revnorb

“ SidDaKid ” -SaveDaKid

“ I hate this guys guts. ” -jlaz10

Set: 1993 Finish Line NHRA - Speedways (Rate)

Card: #T-10 Saniar Int'l Dragway

“ Off the top of my head this is the first drag racing card to ever make Card of the Day! As is pretty well known, I love auto racing...but I never really got into drag racing, despite the fact that my father did it, albeit before I was born. I prefer my races to last longer than 15 seconds, I suppose. I do watch it several times a year, and have a decent sized stash of cards and a small sized collection of 1/64 diecast replicas, however. As for the card itself, this was a great idea for an insert. I wish it had caught on, as tracks have changed a lot since 1993. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Looks like an airport. ” -jlaz10

Set: 2013-14 Score - Gold (Rate)

“ It appears Score is now the hockey equivalent of the NBA's Hoops release? I like the design on this one, both front and back. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Thisis a pretty nice set. It's a shame Panini won't be doing anymore hockey.Palat had a pretty decent first year with T.B. ” -uncaian

He currently plays for the Pittsburgh Penguins but he has also played for the Blues, Maple Leafs, Coyotes and Flames. Career Stats: 637 Games, 150 Goals, 191 Assists and 341 Points. ” -carthage44

“ The Leafs unis have changed slightly in the past few years, but are at their best now. ” -jlaz10

Set: 1957 Topps Space (Rate)

Card: #32 Rocket Jet Heat

“ These must have been very cool back in the day when the space program was in full swing! ” -carthage44

“ This set is awesome. I wish I had some! I love the 50s and 60s theories on what it would be like in the future. Still waiting on moon vacations. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Not that I didn't love your past CotD selections, but surely you can't take "heat" for this card...SWEET! ” -bkklaos

“ Really starting to like the non sports stuff ” -SFC Temple

“ Nice crescent Earth in the background.....I can dig it. ” -flcardtrader

“ So realistic! ” -jlaz10

“ This one looks exciting. Too bad it was way before my time. ” -volbox

Set: 2005 Topps Wacky Packages All-New Series 2 (Rate)

Card: #34 Punchables

“ Speechless, do people actually buy these? ” -carthage44

“ (after browsing the rest of the set) I'd put this one in the trash, no questions asked. ” -volbox

“ I sense the 50's, 60's, and 70's making a comeback with their phoney funnies and puzzle back connections now... "All new series..." Saw it over 30 years ago, Topps. Thanks for playing!!! Besides that... COOL CARD and I WANT THE SET!!!! ” -Dixxy

“ I have no idea why these are popular...or even exist. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ If you're a child of the 70s, like I am, you know the impact Wacky Packages had back in the day. There has never been a non-sport issue- not Garbage Pail Kids, not Mars Attacks, not Star Wars- that caused such a commotion with kids. When each new series came out, it was like a holiday in my hometown of Garwood, NJ. In fact, Wacky Packages OUTSOLD baseball cards for a good portion of their 1973-75 run. This sticker (yes, they're stickers, and there wasn't a stop sign or school desk back in the day that wasn't adorned with a Wacky Pack) is part of the new run which began in 2004. And yes, my kids collected them- in spite of the fact I could never get them into collecting baseball cards long-term. ” -Dave Sosidka

“ Wow...I thought you were baseball, baseball, and baseball! Glad to see you branching out and I love it! Cheers! ” -bkklaos

“ I remember these! ” -jlaz10

“ There are no words.... ” -suomibear8

Set: 1990 Cal League (Rate)

Card: #158 Joseph Ortiz

“ Are we sure this isn't the Alctraz League set release? ” -addysdaddy

“ Obviously an A's affiliate by their use of green and gold. ” -jlaz10

“ While we're at it, his cards are listed under "Joe Ortiz", which should be separated from the post-2010 minor league pitcher Joe Ortiz. ” -volbox

“ Ortiz was drafted by the Brewers in the 8th round during the 1987 MLB Draft. He also played in the Athletics minor league system never reaching higher than High A ball. Career Minor League stats: 534 At Bats, .236 Average, 4 Home Runs and 58 RBI. After playing only 7 games in 1990 with the Modesto A's, he was cut and his baseball career was over. ” -carthage44

Set: 1980 Topps (Rate)

Card: #217 Ed Halicki

“ Love the cartoons on the backs of some of these older Topps sets. This set came out the year before I began collecting. ” -switzr1

“ The card front is not bad, but I really like the card back. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ The golden age of card back writing - he "victimized" the Mets. ” -UNC_Samurai

“ Love the topps early 80s releases. Takes me back to grass cutting to buy these gems as a boy. ” -addysdaddy

“ Halicki played from 1974-1980 with the Giants and California Angels. Career Stats: 55 Wins, 66 Losses, 3.62 ERA and 707 Strikeouts. He is most famous for throwing a no-hitter against the Mets on August 24, 1975. ” -carthage44

“ I love the simplicity of the 80's designs. 1980 was a great design year. ” -suomibear8

“ If only the Giants threw back to these beauties. ” -jlaz10

Set: 1960 Leaf (Rate)

Card: #115 Chuck Tanner

“ Vintage is cool. Card design is not so cool. Had the photo been in color it would have been much better. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Tanner played from 1955-1962 with the Milwaukee Braves, Cubs, Indians and Angels. Career Stats: .261 Average, 21 Home Runs and 105 RBI. Tanner then became a manager for the White Sox, Athletics, Pirates and Braves. In 1972, he was named Manager of the Year while with the White Sox.
