You are also in NY. More people, (in a way, not saying every person more that NY had are card collectors, so they are going to try to get as much as they can because maybe someone there is willing to pay more. And he also said that many of these are for charity and most of these collectors have the heart to lower the prices which in result should get more purchases. Here in CT, the show I go to, (and jimetal, he goes more so he could probably say if the prices are still good,) it is pretty good.

Yeah there is a few places owned by churches and charity organizations that let folks rent out tables real cheap and do card shows . Other places are more expensive. It is nice for the hobby. I met one kid did his first show yesterday and made $1000.00 in sales. He was happy.
Dealers also get to charge a bit less too but it's all fun all low table rent shows.

Our fees for a one day 8 foot show table is $40.00 at our Orlando Gardens (South County) shows. Each additional table is $30. (Promoter charges a $3 admission fee for 17 and over.)

Tables run $30-50 at NC shows and these are at the big locations like Greensboro Coliseum and Raleigh State Fairgrounds. But there are more than just cards at these shows now and the price can skyrocket based on location in the venue. If I was to set up a table at one of those, I'm not bringing most of the "nickel cards". I'm bringing the stars and HOFers. Now if I was going to a show at a local mall, I'd bring a big box of commons for kids to pick through, as well as the better cards. One of my best show experiences as a kid was buying cards at a mall show. I bought a bunch of Ozzie Smith cards for a dime a piece, but they included inserts and parallels too. This was about 1994 and I bought some Ozzie cards that I already had just because I knew the BV was way higher than I was paying. Then I later traded those cards for other Ozzie cards of similar "value". I think I spent $20 that day and got a 100-page box of UltraPro Platinum pages and about 80 Ozzie Smith cards. NO WAY that I could buy that much for the same price today, but I also wasn't buying the cheap Ozzie cards. Oddly, UltraPro pages seem to still be about the same price they were back then!

Not sure where you have been buying your Ultra Pros lately....
Back in late 90s, even in the Seattle area they were around $9.99 for a 100 sheet box...
These days, Walmart has 30 or so sheet packs for $9.99 (Western NC)....
Talked with LCS Sat, he's paying $30 a box now....
Managed to grab a '92 Pro Set from him in sheets and Ultra binder for $10...
It also included a '92 Wheels Rookie Thunder and '93 20 years of Winston Cup Champions...
Older racing can be found at good prices now and then....

I actually found a card listed here for $.02 the other day. Then I thought someone had to actually upload a sale and have it verified for $.02.

Oh I am grateful for those that enter accurate pricing for every card right down to the $.02, I was just pointing out that a $.05 card is 2 and a half times more!

I have over 500 cards that I know how much and when I purchased them. Due to the fact there is no links as most have been purchased at shows. I have not put in the prices. A lot of them are .01 to .10 then the .18 from sportlots. The links to sportlots appear they do not work. This has not been so long ago.

The last several 100-page boxes of UP Platinum cost me $18 each. That price hasn't changed for many years. A box was about $10 back in the early 1990's, so that's not much change for 3 decades. And the 30-page packs at Walmart and Target ran between $4 and $7 the last bunch of times I bought them there. I quit buying any pages at Target when they tried to switch out to the dot-seam brands for the same price as UltraPro pages. I'm not paying the same price for corner-eating pages. If it's not UltraPro Platinum, I'm not buying it. Honestly, I don't know what the price in stores are now since the pandemic started. I don't even go in the stores much anymore, but when I did, they didn't have anything in-stock anyway. The pandemic really messed stuff up when it comes to supplies for card storage. I'm just glad that I already had so much stuff sitting here at the house as far as card protection goes. I don't need to pay the over-inflated prices we are seeing now. They'll come back down some eventually though.
If you are looking for older racing cards at good prices, have you looked at my FS/T List? I have a ton of stuff available and I'm not asking for a bunch of money for anything. Pick some stuff and make an offer. I have lots of unopened product too.
