it depends whether you want to sell it or keep it. i dont know if i could resist not ripping it to see what rarity lies within, however the speculative value could be worth more unripped than the combined value of a ripped card and the card inside.

Thank you! I'm leaning towards ripping at this point, as well!

I've never liked the idea of the rip card. You RUIN one card for the chance at something that could be rare, but not neccesarily. With a bigger named player like Musial I'd say keep it unripped.
I still have a Garret Atkins 2009 Rip Card UNRIPPED I had gotten from a group box break years ago. I'm not a huge fan of his but there is no telling when or if I'll ever get my hands on another rip card let alone one of a player I actually collect.

I collect: Baseball, Football, Hockey, Mostly Vintage pre1980, My Homie teams - Washington/Baltimore Teams Senators (Twins, Rangers), Expos/Nationals, Redskins, Capitals, Bullets/Wizards - HOFers - Non-sport (mostly TV shows and movies). So true! I'm terrified to rip it and find a card like a John Calipari 1/1. Not really a big collector's item unless you're really into College Basketball!

with all the hype over these i am surprised someone has not come up with a way to remove the inner card without "ripping" the outer card. i agree with captkirk that i would hate to ruin the card and a double rip card would probably have me really sweating, but like a christmas present i dont know if i could not open it.

I think it's crazy, whoever came up with this idea should be flogged.

I've decided to not rip it, out of fear I'll pull an expired redemption! I'm sending it to my COMC account and hoping to get about $80. Thanks for the replies everyone!
Also, I'm always open for some trading other cards. My needs are here-

I think 80 bucks is reasonable, hell you might be able to get more. Don't feel bad over the year's I've pulled two rip cards and ended up selling both, but they more than paid for my boxes. The card is more than likely worth more whole than what is inside.
