Not even if they open an authentic train-car diner inside?
Truth be told, the Baseball HOF was built to be a tourist trap too. Somewhere along the way, it became sacred ground to some.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Not even. The "Rock n Roll" HOF is like the Baseball HOF if it had football, basketball, hockey, soccer, golf, and boxing athletes inducted.
As a side note; I've visited the Baseball, Football, Hockey, Soccer, and Boxing HOFs, so far.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Fair point. Off the top of my head, I've been to Baseball, Pro Football, Bowling (former location), Rock & Roll, and Aviation HOFs. I feel like I've forgotten one.

I agree with you C2C. I HAVE been there though. It was back in 2005, before they really started inducting anyone who ever made any music. I was a charter member of the RnR HOF for many years and it was cool to see my name there, but I wouldn't go back now. That was my first visit to an HOF of any kind, but the MLB HOF was only a couple of days later. I rode by the NFL HOF several days before I went to the RnR one, but had no time to stop b/c I had to get to Chicago on-time. I've been by the NASCAR HOF in Charlotte, but never when they are open. I'll get in there eventually and hopefully I can get to the NFL HOF someday too.

I'm going to be a contrarian here...
First, Yadi is by no means a sure fire first ballot Hall of Famer. You can see this by direct comparison to Pudge Rodriguez, Rodriguez was significantly better than Yadi both offensively and defensively and has an MVP to his name and was barely a first ballot HoFer. I don't think Yadi's rings will make up the difference, and I would be utterly shocked if he makes it on the first ballot (assuming a normal decline to his career).
Second, Yadi is not the best catcher of his generation. Posey is. Posey is so much better with the bat than Yadi that it more than makes up for any defensive difference. If you accept WAR as a valid measure of a player's value, you can't help but notice that Posey has a higher career WAR than Yadi even though he has played 5 fewer seasons. Posey also has an MVP to his name and more rings than Yadi and, like Yadi, was considered an anchor of those WS wining teams. He is also younger and is likely to be more valuable than Yadi over the remainder of their careers. To me, it's not even that close.
Yadi is great defensively and has a few rings, but that's really his entire HoF case. He is below average with the bat, and even among catchers would be significantly below average should he make the Hall of Fame. He may still make the Hall of Fame, and I would not be shocked if he did -- I just don't personally think he's that great a candidate.

As recently as two years ago, he finished in the top ten in batting. He was a weaker hitter early in his career (like Ozzie Smith was) and improved with age. Last year his average dropped because he was trying to hit more home runs, which he did (six more than Posey, for the record). And the fact that Posey is younger and will play longer only means that they won't be on the ballot at the same time. The hall of fame ballot is not the all star game ballot, where they list all the catchers and you pick one.
I've yet to see anyone in this forum say anything against Posey. And like I said earlier, "first ballot" is 100% meaningless because voters only get 10 votes, and you don't know who will still be on the ballot when his name comes up. By the time Yadi and Buster retire, the log jam of PED suspects will be gone due to either finally getting in, or dropping off after 10 years, so the ballot will look much different. But Jack Morris and Alan Trammell will have the same style of plaque as Babe Ruth, and Cy Young (who, for the record, wasn't first ballot). The plaques dont tell how they got in. They all have equal standing in the Hall (actually I think the first five are front and center but nobody else will join them in that spot, regardless of their WAR). And voting has changed a lot over the years. DiMaggio got votes while he was still active. Gehrig got a special election and his own mid-term induction ceremony so he could go in before he died. Voting rules could change ten more times before these guys retire.

My apologies. I came across as much more of a jerk than I intended.
I do think that Molina will get into the Hall but I was a little surprised at the disconnect between his reputation and his production. His offense has been better of late and with a normal decline he’ll have opportunity to hit some milestones that will help his case.
I do think that Posey was dismissed a little too casually earlier. I do think Posey is the best catcher of the last decade, but I was too obnoxious in making his case and I am sorry for that.
I agree that by the time Molina is voted on, the current PED logjam will be cleared out one way or another and that will help him. I also agree that there shouldn't be a difference between first ballot inductees and others, but in some minds there is a bit of difference.
In any case, Molina had something that wasn't captured in mere stats. He will get in, and good for him.

Yes we are definitely on the same side of the "first ballot" argument. I totally agree with you there. And no need to apologize for anything you said. Civilized debate is always welcome here. You didn't say anything bad. Even the one resident Hothead of the forums has toned it down lately (I think). I'm a Cardinals fan in east-central Illinois, where its same driving distance from here to St. Louis, Chicago, and Cincinnati, so fans of all four teams live here, and I'm used to defending Yadi against Cubs fans who genuinely hate him. For the record, I think Posey will go in too. Best position player on a team that won 3 World series. And he's been consistently good long enough. In my mind, I guess he was a little younger than he actually is.

As always, David has spoken well. And I agree with the more recent posts. (Probably) my last comments are these. While they obviously overlap, Molina does have five full years on Posey. Yadi’s probably near retirement, as a catcher at least. Posey’s in his prime. So it’s not a perfect comparison. To date, overall career, I’d still put Molina #1. Heck, Posey’s not even eligible for HOF consideration if he retires today. Pick a catcher for my team right now? Posey.

Back to the Rock & Roll HOF matter at hand, I just read who didn't get in (especially Judas Priest and Rage) and then I looked at who is in, and I better see the outrage voiced yesterday. I guess I didn't realize how many non-Rock artists there were.
What are the eligibility requirements? Because I don't think Stone Temple Pilots are in, and that disturbs me.
