That new feature in the name validation system is incredible. Really helping with presidents and racehorses stuck in baseball sets as inserts. Thank you, Admin. It works perfectly!

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

I have been working on the team identification module recently. This led to finding confusion with some minor league team sets. I am interested to see if there could be some way to improve this.
1. Most minor sets have major league affiliations. However, there are also many independent teams. Some of these independent teams are listed but have no TID number. I would like the ability to add team TID's when needed.
2. Some minor league teams go by similar names and are not linked, such as Oklahoma Redhawks and Oklahoma City Redhawks, Charleston Riverdogs and Charleston River Dogs. I would like to see an alias for teams, just as with players.
3. When I do change or edit a team name in a set that already has the affiliated team listed, it erases the team and it all the cards in the set have to be manually updated. Could there be a way to do this without the loss of information.
Sorry for the long-winded suggestion. The more information we have, the more we can all enjoy this site.

The edit function for sets seems to be a bit strange. When I edit a set the dropdown list for Type is set default to College and Major Releases can not be selected. So when I edited a set to add number of cards I also changed the set type to College.

I don't know how far this site is going to stretch, with regard to exotic features, but something I've wanted to see done somewhere is Asian player names presented in both English and their native language. There are sites where you can find English & Japanese or English & Korean, but nowhere that actually does more than that. I would love to be able to have the players in the CPBL, KBO or NPB sets show with their names in both languanges. This may just be a very niche thing to do that would only be of use to a small number of people, but I know it would help me tremendously with identifying players as I translate checklists. It would likely require a noticeable increase in size in the database due to the unicode for the other languages.
On that note, for certain majorly expensive (in time and resources), you might even consider doing something like a GoFundMe, IndieGogo or Kickstarter kind of fundraiser, so that if a very ambitious project gets adequate funding, it could be developed. Just a thought.
And I still think the drag and drop image upload would be awesome. There seems to be a few different javascript solutions for that around the web.

Part 2 of the Transaction Manager upgrade is now complete. There is now the option to select the specific items from your transaction partner's For Sale / Trade list.
Coming soon in part 3 of the upgrade, the items will transfer automatically into your collection once the transaction is completed.
Thanks to everyone for the feedback.

Oh that part 3 is going to be cool because I've started making trades. Finally went through with moving my doubles to my trade list.

We got off topic in my thread "teach me please" and thought that I should move my last post here to where it belongs, we got discussing the glossary part of the site and how it might be good for Admin to help us out, if you got a second just pop over to it and do a quick read, thanks!! Here was my final post from it .............
"It almosts seems like (the glossary) could use an overhaul, it would be really nice if there was a drop down screen or something that the owners of the site could create so that you can only choose what has been determined as a proper glossary term. A simple click on each of the applicable terms and boom your done. For example, if you choose MEM from the list, then you can choose from a list of appropriate terms to go with it, like JSY, STK, BAT, etc. I am sure there are plenty of dreamy senarios we can all come up with that would just be awesome but time and money always deternine such advances. For now just a good ol clarification from the big wigs would make me happy. At least that way we have been directed to do it the way the builders intended."

I agree with ranfordfan (not on his favourite team but the glossary). I have sometimes went in to update some abbreviations. Some contributors have been very creative in their abbreviations and then fail to spell out what exactly they meant. I wish there was a standard glossary that would have to be used by all. This would avoid multiple abbreviations for the same term or abbreviations that only the one who input it knows what it is.

Like I said in the other thread, I don't mind taking lead on glossary clean-up if that happens.

Turning off trading because my collection is in complete disarray after moving and I don't know when I can get it organized.
