Names are just hard right now, in baseball, because almost everything left is either minor league, Asian, or checklists uploaded wrong (commas instead of hyphens for multi-player cards, etc.) I'm reluctant to mess with the Asian because of my unfamiliarity with naming conventions. Minor leagues have a lot of duplicate names and nicknames (Michael/Mike). And mistakes are hard to fix from a tablet with no mouse. So I don't work on names as much as I used to.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

The reduction in the number of sets missing the glossary descriptions has been nothing short of amazing! We had another 800+ sets reduced just within the last week. I know the sets are getting harder to complete as there are other issues with these sets (I know, I'm working on them too). Non-Sport is almost done. I'm still in shock that Racing is complete. Football is getting close. Baseball just slid under 1800 sets to go. Hockey is halfway done from where it was. Basketball is just over 2000 (which is down more than 300 from where it started). Keep up the good work - I'm looking forward to the day we hit zeroes all around. (I wonder which day that will be...)

most def.... on the football side.. i've been having some issues finding the Variation or SP groupings for the A, B, C, etc etc designations. I had found some, but there are still many there. and btw.. big thanks to whoever has been helping out on that! I think Names category should be concetrated on. i've came across a few names where the PID's were associated with someone else with the same name- different sport. Pain in the butt to fix

About half of non-sport is 2011 Americana retail inserts which shouldn't even be there, they didn't make retail versions of ALL those inserts that year. Besides the retail version of the base set, and the 3 parallels, not quite sure which, if any of the inserts were exclusive to retail, not been able to find a complete breakdown yet.
Also some cards are listed which shouldn't be, and others are missing. Might be a good idea to let those ride as is for a while.

Never mind, someone jumped the gun, and those are no longer showing. Didn't have them written down, so I can't tell which sets needed work still.

I'm glad to see that Racing shows as complete. However, I know that it really isn't. Many of the sets (base and/or parallel) are missing notes for subsets completely. Whenever I come across one, I add every bit of info I have or can find, including completing the glossary. While I know I've added a ton of info and scans to that sport, I'm betting that a specific member has contributed even more to the glossary than I have. He has also added way more checklists to the site, but did them completely with every bit of info for each set. I have to commend "Lea DeFoote" for his extensive additions to the racing portion of this site!

I have been working on basketball, mostly the serial numbered insert sets. As of this morning, basketball is down to 498. Now I am getting into the hard ones. How do the sets with just A, B, C etc get fixed. There are more of them than I imagined.

That whole A, B, C, etc. insertion rate thing is useless. The only way it makes sense to even have is for while you are buying packs of it.
If someone takes the time to include the actual rate, say A is 1 in 16,000 packs in the glossary, then that's ok. But some of those rates are impossible to find after a release has been out a few years.
Then there is the chance that is not even what that means with a particular set, never can tell what someone else is thinking. Best to input that as you go when uploading a CL.

i agree on the A, B, C... i like to put the odds in when known on the front page of the Edit Insert Set. I've been going through and adding the odds in with the cards designated with those letters. hasn't been too too bad so far, beckett has most of the odds listed. just whoever downloaded those sets those designations came with it.
to each its own.. some are curious about the odds, others not. although time consuming, still a little fun looking into other setd
