I just did an export spreadsheet for my collection from another site. And i am wondering if there is a way to quickly add this via importing to my collection on this website. I would spend months entering each card over again. I had over 40,000 listed on this other site i mentioned, to add here. Thats even before I continue adding to the other 7/8 of my collection that is still in boxes all over the house. Thanks for any help here, and if i must i will. very time consuming to have to start over.

There is no import option

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Thought it was my anniversary, but that's next month. 301,000 cards entered in 23 months, lol, and working 6 days a week. That's either a good life or a sad life, lol.

Welcome to tradingcarddatabase. I'm in the same situation - 500 cards entered, 21,500 to go.

It's taken me ten months to enter 24,000. But my collection was completely disorganized. I'm perhaps the most non-obsessive, non-compulsive collector out there. I'm probably halfway there.

Retired, yet I have better things to do with my life then re-enter all 50,000 cards (plus another 20K I nenver catalogied into myold system). Also I don't see that an entry has much data. I record things about my cards - are they numbered (#41 of 78), or if the AUTO is on card, on sticker... what type of relic is it (Bat, Jersey, Glove)... was the card signed in person (when where). Graded - by which company, result, when... Am I missing something.
I think the data accrued is great, very useful in trying to identify cards... and real time pricing is nice. But I'd rather use Excel if I can't find an APP that will accept at least some of my info via automated upload.

All of this information can be entered by using the "Detailed Add" feature, including autographed, SN, grading information, etc. Anything that doesn't have a designated field can be added to the Comments box.
If you don't want to use the site, that's up to you. But don't discount the site because you don't see all of the tools that you want, especially when they're actually here.

I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.

I was a user here for a long time before I used the inventory functions as I had a lot in spreadsheets as well.
Then I used the site to inventory boxes or years or other stuff I did not have in spreadsheets...after using that for awhile, I was hooked.....adding new cards from new sets here was so much easier than spreadsheets...
Now I have most everything here, except vintage baseball. I prefer my previous existing spreadsheets for that part of collection
So...I would suggest a new person start adding from a box or area or sport you don't have catalogged for a month and then do some trade/want list matching (even if you do not physically trade) and then decide how to proceed with rest of collection
