When I started entering everything on this site, I suspected I could end up overloading it from my end. So when I entered my For Sale / Trade list, I only entered as having one available even though I might have 10 or 20 (or 1000 for one 1988 Donruss common). It makes searches by other members more efficient. If someone asks for a card in trade and I have more than one, I eneter a second card for trade at the time I accept the trade. This way, when the card that is sent is removed, there is still a card showing for trade. If the trade partner uses the Trade builder by connecting to links in my For Trade list, this is easy as the link in the trade is right there (that was why I had asked Admin for this enhanced feature and as usual, they worked it quickly).
As for my Want list, I did the same for both sets and player collection. I only entered sets older than 1994 in whole on my Want List and then only added other sets that I already had a good start to completing, usually 50% or more. For the individual players (separate ID), other than Nolan Ryan, Pete Rose and George Brett, I went through their lists and only added the cards I most desired and that I had similar cards to trade back. Because there are a lot of players I collect (all HOF and stars I liked) the Want List still grew quite large. My 2 Want Lists sit around 35,000 to 40,000 cards. With that, I get plenty of Trade offers. If I see it drop below 35,000, I may look to add more cards on it.
David, because you seek specific teams, you might be better off looking for possible trades with others who have a large For Trade list and then building the trade at your end. I have a Cleveland, Kansas City, Houston / Texas, Philadelphia, and St. Louis fan who do exactly that (and maybe a Pittsburgh one if he finds the time to get back to his trade proposals). They all propose trades with me whenever I list something new for trade that is in their Want List.
