Is the fact that sets are listed by their full proper name issued by the card manufacturers themselves, unlike Beckett that drops names or even abbreviates them from the titles. It would be like referencing this site as carddb instead of tradingcarddb. Now for the extra fun of updating my spreadsheets to the proper titles to ease the entry of cards!

Hmmmm. That's a toughie. I think it's the ability to post something here knowing with near certainty that there are like-minded people who will appreciate/enjoy/respond/expand upon/agree/disagree/care, and do so with passion and intelligence.
And I like having my whole collection and want list accessible at my fingertips.

1. Forums, and the regulars on those forums.
2. Upcoming release calendar
3. Sell sheets, usually submitted before release date, so I can know what to expect in a new product.
4. Soccer game cards as RCOTD.
5. That thing where you look at two cards and vote which one you like better. I've spent many sleepless night entertaining myself with that.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Took a hiatus from collecting and the site as a result. Been about 2.5 years since the last time I logged in and it appears that very little has changed. Current and up to date but still familiar and easy to use. Recognize many of the same users still here from three years ago as well. That's what I like most about this site and that's what makes it valuable to me. PASSION: I can't the imagine the dedication it must take to maintain this site and keep it relevant at no cost to the user. One of the first things I noticed when I first joined was the mutual respect shown here between users. The honesty of everyone being unapologetically proud in what they liked was refreshing, but more importantly for me was how disagreements and criticisms were acknowledged and simply viewed as opinion as opposed to a hate crime. Get enough of that shit on Facebook.

The Members!
Those on the forums (and some who aren't) are very passionate about the hobby and about making this site the best it can be. It is certainly the most accurate of the card database sites on this planet and that is mostly b/c of the members. ADMIN gives us the guidelines and we run with it to make any CL look like all the other CL's. Consistency with how sets are represented in their checklists is very important to long-time collector's and newbies alike.
The spirited exchanges on the forum are always fun and sometimes take up more of my time than I want, but usually worth it. If it wasn't for the forums, I might have all of my collection listed on here by now. BUT, I wouldn't have had as much fun OR learned a lot about the site before adding most of my cards! I'm only halfway through adding all of my cards just to my collection and traders, but some categories have also been completely entered (including scans and all kinds of card/set info). Plus, I've added a bunch of CL's myself over the nearly 3 years since I joined.

WOW!
I was only complimenting the fact that the site lists sets as they should be listed as. More of a rip on Beckett.
But that's another cool thing about the users.

Let's just hope Beckett doesn't get their hands on this site like it did on another I heard of.

I enjoy reading the forums, and the vast amount of knowledge the members here share is really astounding. The ease with which the forums can be searched for specific info is a great asset as well.
Another cool aspect about this site is the fact that the back of the cards images are shown. That is a big help for a newcomer like myself for identifying cards on sites like Ebay.
This site's willingness to let members submit info and card images is something special to me. I enjoy the fact that it gives me something to keep my mind busy. I feel like I can help a little here and there, and that gives me a sense of purpose when I log on.
One of the cool things about tracking my collection here is, no matter where I am, if I can log on, then I can view the gallery of my cards, and get to enjoy them as though I was looking at the album with the cards themselves.
It really it is a positive and informative website. I sincerely hope it lasts forever!
