I agree that I always thought Galarraga should have been awarded a stat change and a perfect game. Really, the only imperfection was in the ump. I guess stat changes when a man was on base could be a slippery slope, though.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Scherzer and Lolich are incorrect. The two almost perfect games occured in 1932 and 1983. The pitcher who pitched in the '30s had four starts where he lost a no-hitter in the 9th inning in a span of two seasons.

Not yet. One pitcher was on the 1935 and 1945 World Series teams, and the other pitcher was on the 1984 World Series team.

I don't know the one in the 30's, but just to give everyone a jump the one in the 80's is Milt Wilcox. My buddy at work was at the game, that is how I know.
