If it makes anyone feel better, I've been working on adding my football cards to my collection. I'm 24 years old, and I can't hardly see the differences without taking my cell phone flashlight and catching the hologram angle just right. And I'm still not sure that I'm getting it right - the 1992 with the UD Diamond logo are easy enough to discern, but I'm concerned about 1990 and 1991 differences. Makes me very hesitant to even offer them for trade or send them as PIFs.
While I personally don't care about these variations in my collection, I know others do, and just because I don't doesn't mean I shouldn't care when sending them to someone else.
Back to the new point at hand - usually I'm a proponent of partial parallel sets, because it avoids cluttering up the main checklist with information. However, I think this is a situation where I also agree that it would be nice to see it formatted all on one checklist. Of course, without me having L8 permissions I won't be tasked with handling that, so maybe it's not fair for me to give an opinion one way or another.
Final thought - if we could somehow get Bounty's post with the enlarged graphic showing the differences into the release notes, that would be wonderful. It certainly helped me. But I don't know if images can be placed in the release notes. Perhaps that would be a helpful addition in other circumstances too - the ability to zoom in on variations and differences in large sets like the Donruss baseball (when applicable and the difference can be highlighted in zoomed-in example images). Okay, done rambling. Back to work!
I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.
