Early 90's UD Hologram back differences!

A bit after you asked, but I just opened a high series box this afternoon and cards 501-600 all had the '91 hologram, while cards 601-700 all had the '92 hologram.

This is fantastic bounty. I wish I had seen this 4 months ago. Would be nice to put this somewhere on the web-site so we could access it as needed.

The 1992’s are the easiest to identify, they have the UD baseball diamond logo.

The 1991/1990’s can be identified in three different ways (from easiest to hardest):

You see the year 91 or 90.
If “Upper Deck” is stacked and doesn’t repeat itself in a straight line (either right side up or upside down) then you have a 1991. If you can read “Upper Deck” in a straight line, they you have a 1990.
If the ‘leg’ in the “R” is diagonal and originates from the ‘stem’ it is a 1991. If the ‘leg’ of the R is curved and does not originate from the ‘stem,’ then you have a 1990.

Keep in mind not every hologram is the same, some may have large gaps, or they may be upside down. There may also be layers of foil that are combined that do not make neat patterns. Some holograms are easier to view than others, you may need to manipulate the light source significantly to see it (or more of it). The 1990’s are also much rarer.

1991 UPPER DECK FOOTBALL..I have a ton of these for trade. I can't make out the holos too well on many (old eyes) and won't be entering them here. If you want to PM me, I will try to fill your needs. Thanks! John

John, I've probably got the same sight issues due to age, but what helps me with these is a magnifying glass and tilting the cards to allow the light to reveal which hologram it is.

Don't ever throw cards away unless they're damaged...

It definitely takes a magnifier and tilting several ways to see the numbers on these.

Have entered 1994 thru 2021 baseball and 2009 thru 2020 football so far. Don't have many newer than 2020 except A&G in baseball, and very little beyond 2019 in football. My extra hockey is older than that.
