I had always wondered why these weren't a bit more valuable. You don't see a whole lot of them floating around. Let alone in decent condition with straight cuts. I think they are pretty neat and they are fairly rare. Perhaps it is because a lot of these wax pack boxes are still floating around unopened?

I was 7 and my dad had found a bunch of his childhood cards in my grandparents attic. That reignited his passion for the hobby and we started collecting 1988 Topps (he is a Topps purist? We completed at least three sets and he still has three unopened factory sets set aside to help pay for my college, lol.

This was the first pack of cards I ever opened, and started my McGwire PC. I pulled his All-Topps Rookie team card out of that pack, and I was hooked!

When I was younger the topps factory was around the corner from my house and we would dumpster dive and get the bad cards...lol this was 30 years ago and thats how I started collecting cards over the years, given to me as gifts, yard sales and more.

I love how, on the Glossy Send In set, the only Pirate in the set, on a team with Barry Bonds, Bobby Bonilla, Andy Van Slyke, and Doug Drabek is...Mike Dunne.

Dunne did finish 2nd in NL ERA in 1987, so that may explain it. Except the leader in ERA isn't in the set either. You may have heard of him. His name is Nolan Ryan.

I had no idea what a baseball card was until my uncle gave me two packs of '88 Topps for my 7th birthday.

The first set of cards I collected. I like the clean and crisp design along with the presentation of the team and player name. Its a sentimental favorite.

The first pack of baseball cards I ever opened was 1988 Topps. I received it as a gift from the dad when stopping at a Quik-Way on a summer night coming home from a minor league ballgame. That began a great lifelong father-son relationship centered on Jesus Christ and the beautiful game of baseball.

First pack I ever bought was '88 Topps. I remember being so happy I got Darrell Evans in the pack since I was a Tigers fan.

This set reminds me of a cross between the 1966 and 1967 Topps baseball card sets.
