Hi All,
I'm sure this has been discussed before, but it's increasingly frustrating to see people not respond to trade offers.
Please respond, even if it is to decline. I guess I don't know how many offers people get daily, but you do get notifications about new trade proposals.
I usually give the person at least a week to respond. Don't know why it would ake longer than that.
Thanks and sorry for my rant.

I hear you. Have you tried sending a follow up message to the person? They may be in 'think about it' and/or 'forgot about it' mode.

I know...not even a decline...just nothing...it's weird... rarely happened in the last couple years to me and then suddenly in the last two months it must be five times...

I'm mostly organizing over adding right now.

I have a proposal sitting out there right now, been there for a couple weeks. I see the member had been logging on but hasn't answered messages or responded. Normally I would have withdrawn by now, but it's slow on my end so I'll leave it there. For a bit anyway
For me, I always try to acknowledge it within a day or two, just so they know it's been seen.

I could probably buy the already complete sets cheaper somewhere else, but I like getting my maildays.

I'm a fairly even-keeled guy but it really irks me to deal with someone who's irresponsive to messages. It seems to happen more to me on counters. They go on my No Trade List after I withdraw the counter. I figure they're probably the kind of trader with a Take-It-Or-Leave-It attitude, and I believe in hacking out a trade - that's really a fun kind of trade. They may have cards that are high priority for me, but the lack of civility has me looking elsewhere.

Looks like I was one of those. Wow. Didn't even realize that I was persona non grata with you.

You're not and never have been on my list, Dan.

Ah, well if it's been a week or more than I usually just withdraw. If it's something I really wanted to happen I tend to send a follow up note that sometimes is responded too.
If this trader has been on the site and has been trading recently (check feedback), then I would feel insulted in this situation. If they are on but haven't traded in more than a month's time then I chalk up my proposal as wishful thinking. Sometimes folks just stop trading...

I feel it is incredibly rude when there's ghosting when the person is regularly logging in. I understand sometimes people may be just busy but, even so, it just takes a few seconds to send a message saying something like " I'm interested but it will take me a few days to work on this." This ghosting is an issue in other situations all over society too. Many people now think it is more polite to ignore someone than to simply say no thank you. When and where I grew up ignoring someone who's genuinely trying to communicate with you was one of the rudest things you could do.
With larger bubble mailer size trades I'll always send a message first asking "up for a larger bubble mailer trade (approx 75 cards )?" unless it's with someone I've had many successful large trades with. If they wont respond to the message, they're unlikely to respond to the proposal. With PWE, since they're smaller, easier to pull, and don't tie up as many cards, sometimes I'll still just send the proposal and hope for the best.
