Totally false.  In 2012, the National Geodetic Survey determined it has sank 2 inches since completion in 1884.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Right C2. If there were any truth to this, it would have shrunk over 60 feet by now, meaning the entrance door would be 60 feet underground. It isn't. I wonder how many misinformed kids have grown up believing this and are now adults quoting this to friends and sounding like fools!

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff.  Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

In light of the information from C2Cigars and especially the point made by switzr1, I guess I'll ask the Ranger simply "Is the Washington Monument sinking" (as I don't need help from these cards to "sound like a fool", as I'm pretty good at doing that on my own!  You know if I'm told it's sinking a couple inches a year, I'll know the Ranger owns a set of these!

Bkklaos, with all the government cuts, they might be using this set of cards as a guide for new rangers!
