Thanks, everyone.
Feeling mildly stalked, but yes, that's the one, Lrxst2112.
For tobacco cards, especially with a Hall of Famer, I've got a few criteria:
1) Unless it's from my local shop, it has to be graded by a reputable company -- PSA, SGC, BGS, or BVG. Just for authentication purposes; I barely trust the grading process, especially from BVG, but the odds are it's at least the real deal.
2). I'm usually looking for something graded 1.5 to 3.0. I just can't bring myself to buy a card graded Authentic, and 1.0 is just a tad too shabby. 3.0 level is about all I can bear to spend for most tobacco cards, although my Hassan Triple Folder is a PSA 4. If I ever buy a card from the 1800s, I might relax this rule.
3) I wasn't willing to spend more than $100 for this card, and it would have had to be in better condition -- maybe PSA 3 or better -- for me to think about spending that much. As it is, I killed my remaining budget for April and most of May with this purchase, but it was an opportunistic buy. This was $58, plus an unreasonable $7 for shippping. Again, if I get a real Old Judge card, the $100 thing is likely to go out the window.
I don't quite get it, but the T201s seem considerably cheaper than, say, T206s, which is just fine with me.
This one hit all those criteria. Now, if the seller would only tell me he's mailed it. Paid for it Monday evening....
Still looking for those T207 Cubs cards that meet these criteria. That's gonna be real tough.
