My favorite way to purchase cards just got more favoriter!
I paid $25 for a box of 3200 cards and was sorting through it. Most of the time I'm going through these I find a bunch of 80s cards and such was the case for about half the box. Lots of '86 Topps and I was pleased with the '87 O-Pee-Chee cards since we don't get those down in Texas. Anyway, things got really nice after finding a 1960 Topps #70 Lew Burdette card. I don't know who he is, but it was a 1960 card, not what I was expecting to find in this box - the third such box I've bought from this dealer.
Lo, and behold, things got much better and quickly. You know how your sifting through your collection in boxes and you can tell your vintage from the modern easily because the white is not as white anymore? Well, I saw a bunch together so I went straight for them and this is what I found (and not in NM, but in VG at least):
- 1969 Topps #190 Willie Mays
- 1969 Topps #85 Lou Brock (2 of them)
- 1969 Topps #440 Willie McCovey
- 1969 Topps #20 Ernie Banks
- 1968 Topps #110 Hank Aaron
And there were about seven from '57-'59 of common players and quite a few vintage needs were met for me. Many will go on my trade list so be on the lookout.
Best $25 I've ever spent.
