So I bought a mid-size collection 2 weeks ago for $150 bucks and was really doing it to add cards to my trade list to get the stuff i collect.  Out of boredom tonight I started going through the binders and I started noticing binders of 1974- 85 Topps baseball.  I was told that the binders had been picked through so i didn't have much hope.  Well whoever picked through them must be a youngin or not to bright because they did grab the Gwynn, Ripkin, Sandberg, Mattingly and Henderson RC's but they must not have heard of some of these other guys.  Brett, Yount, Murray, Smith and about 30 other cards worth at least $10 bucks each.  Now I've got thousands of cards to enter for my trading bddies and I got some really nice vintage cards.  I never tire of the chase. whether it's opening a pack or buying a box from a store or buying someone's large white boxes.  It's all about the chase.  

The chase is always fun! And that's exactly why buying the old collections are still enticing to guys like us. If by "Smith" you mean Ozzie, I'll always be interested to see what you added. You listed 9 players there and I collect all but 3 of them. Ripken, Yount and Murray are the ones I don't collect but I'd be interested in anything I don't have of the other 6 players. I'm also interested in any Cardinals cards in my Wantlist. Congrats on the purchase and I'm glad you are having fun with it! I'm STILL dealing with organizing this massive one from back in October!!!

Nice, Joe! I'd be interested in finding out what you've got as I always have those years to fill for my PC. I'll try to send you a Want List so you can filter through those when you get time. I'm still away from home, but I can always talk a good trade and fill it when I get back.

They may have been like me.  (Not into baseball)  As I went through my nephew's collection 150,000 baseball cards.  He had some players pulled but not all of their cards so I just pulled them .

Yes i seen more that should have pulled but I was not going in that direction is selling them at the time I went through them.  I have only put the Frank Thomas cards here for a guy that wanted a list.  I did not want to type all the cards.

Even not being into baseball I did enjoy looking through them and sorting out the better cards (IMO).

I actually got my Trout Topps Update rookie that way. The binder clearly had been picked over but just overlooked that one I guess. Awesome since I'd probably never buy one otherwise.
