Well said, I prefered Panini over UD, from the styles to the smell (yes the smell) I didnt collect any UD (other than OPC)  until Panini disappeared.

Am I mistaken or would there not be more money in letting multiple companies have licenses?  How much does exclusivity cost v. Multiple companies.  Between upset Deck, topps, Panini and Leaf, I would think you could sell multiple licenses for a greater total than a single license.  I am just curious if everyone knows how much more money the sport makes from exclusivity?

If they thought they could make more otherwise, I'm sure the leagues would go that route.

I don't think they care enough to test the market?  "Oh Upper Deck will throw millions at us so we don't have to do the work of negotiating with other companies too? Sign us up!"

Until one of the major three companies goes under, I don't think we will ever see the end of exclusives.
