Mattingly, Marino and Mario. Then because he was my dads favorite and i have more cards of him then anybody else in my collection Mickey Mantle.
Getting away from all the M's:
Basketball is Ralph Sampson
Racing is anybody with the last name of Andretti or Earnhardt. Yes I got excited when I pulled a Jeffrey Earnhardt a couple of weeks ago.

Wow. This thread was crazy while I was at work. I knew Billy's favorite driver was Dale Jr. and I know several other's favorite players and teams. Billy, Dan and T206 are easy b/c I talk to and deal with them a lot.
It was nice to see my name in the OP, but that's not my ALL-TIME favorite athlete. Jimmie Johnson is my biggest focus now and has been for many years now. But my All-time favorite is Ozzie Smith. My favorite current Cardinals player is Molina but between Ozzie and Yadier are Stan the Man and Lou Brock. My favorite NFL player to collect is DeAngelo Williams. Outside of Panthers players, I have several favorites (Favre, Brady, Jerry Rice, Barry Sanders). My favorite WWE wrestler has always been The Undertaker. I bet NOBODY knows my favorite NBA player though. Billy might remember!

I have been a fan of Tony Gwynn since 1990 when I went to a Braves game and saw him hit everything every pitcher threw at him that night. What an awesome hitter he was.

This is a pretty choice as each player is a favorite for different reasons.
Hockey- Gordie Howe
Baseball is harder Al Kaline and Reggie Jackson, but Mark Fidrych made me love the game all over again. Current would be Miggy
Soccer Sergio Ramos
Racing- Dick Lamdy just watching that 1968 Charger come up to the lights was enough to keep me hooked
