“A card collection is a magic carpet that takes you away from work-a-day cares to havens of relaxing quietude where you can relive the pleasures and adventures of a past day — brought to life in vivid picture and prose.” Jefferson R. Burdick
An interesting video about why we collect using Jefferson Burdick's collection as an example. There are some very cool cards shown in this video. It's worth a watch if, like me, you have some free time today.

Along the same lines, referencing the "relaxing quietude" that card collecting gives, my wife heard a sermon this past Sunday and told me that the pastor highly recommends everyone have a hobby to help us deal with life. She may be coming around and understanding my need to collect - or at least to have a hobby. I'll have to check out that video, Chad.

Wow! Great video. I found it interesting how he went about finding his sets.
One thing bugged me, though, they GLUED the cards?

Been there, kind of, after walking around Central Park in bad fitting sandals, I chose to sit outside it for two hours while the rest of my family went in. They said nothing about a baseball card exhibit, though.

Nice video. Thank you.
Glued?!? That got me, too.
I've been at the Met, not too long ago, in fact. Didn't see the collection, but I don't think it's always or easily on display. Might have to make an appointment, or something. But I'll inquire whenever I next get there.
