Scotch tape until I die. Hundreds of transactions here and eBay, never a single issue. I make tabs and use name brand, painters tape fares much worse in AZ summer heat.

Have always used green or blue painters tape on the top loaders. I will use scotch tape on the outside of the envelope to make sure it is sealed and to prevent tampering.

I used scotch tap until I received a top loader with painters tape. I bought a roll the next day.

On a top loader If you fold the top down first, the cards will not slide out or be exposed to any tape at all.

What is that behind you!?! Oh, It's me! Looking at the cards you have, That I want. :)

I, Mark1010, do hereby resolve to only use painters on items that touch card related items.

So the reason why people don't like scotch tape is because of the residue on the top loader? Or because it damages the card. I sell a decent amount of cards and use scotch tape to pinch the top of a top loader closed so the card does not come out. If it somehow does start coming out I feel it would get caught on the penny sleeve first being another layer of protection. I've never had a complaint but am willing to switch if it's a problem. I just thought clear tape looked better n would be easier to get off but haven't tried painters tape. Should I switch or just keep doing what's been working?

I see a lot of people comment " I've never had an issue with scotch tape." Well here is the thing. A lot of other people have. I don't get why you wouldn't switch to make your buyer or trading partner happier. It's all about simplicity and the safety of the card. Also I get toploads are cheap but why waste it by putting scotch tape on it? Just makes sense to me and that is why I started this thread. A roll of painters tape last just as long if not longer than scotch tape and just makes life easier.
