Why is that every time I see a grossly overpriced item for sale on eBay, I suspect that it's Dean's Cards? And why is it I'm right half the time?
Ok, I'll stop now.

Someone had to take the crown from Burbank. I think Burbank's prices have become a lot more reasonable as they've put more and more cards for sale online. Or maybe it's just that they offer free shipping often enough to make them a worthwhile option.

Everytime I put something out on Ebay, I am always at least 50% lower than those guys, including postage. Of course, that may be their primary income. I am retired and do it for fun and a little cash.

When I read the OP, I also thought of Burbank. Their prices look like they've become a little more reasonable lately, but I still haven't bought anything from them. When I buy on eBay, it seems like I generally end up with the same 10-12 sellers.

I've bought from Burbank, both from ebay and from Beckett Marketplace. Because they are so big, they have just about everything. When you've exhausted all your other options...
However, I laugh at Dean's Cards. He prices a $3 common at $40. At least Burbank is in the ballpark.

I don't understand the mindset of any seller that sets all of their prices at 10x-100x actual market value. There are a couple of sellers on COMC that have thousands of 1990s commons (what we used to think of as a 5 cent card) for $19-$40. I have to assume they have some sort of special deal with COMC, otherwise they're paying a lot of extra money in storage fees for no obvious reason, for cards that will never sell.

@DaClyde I don't understand the mindset of a website that allows such outrageous prices. If I stumbled onto that site and those were the first cards I saw, I would never go back. Which hurts the honest sellers on there. Bad business, in my mind.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

What bugs me the most about him isn't really his prices, but his refusal to accept lower offers. On a couple occasions I've offered about a quarter less then what he had listed, and he almost immediately deny them. I still have a couple on my watch list on there but only because he's the cheapest seller (oddly enough) but still higher than what I think is a good deal.
