If you are in Canada, Dollarama has excellent 15 cards for $1 repackaged Hockey Cards. I usually buy 20 or 25 packs. Our Dollar Trees do not carry cards. Of course, Taget is out of business in Canada, loosing billions of dollars in a very ill-fated attempt to take on Walmart.

I enjoy buying those packages, but rarely get anything of value. I don't really expect much from them though, but I wouldn't be too thrilled with a card with writing on it, checklist or not. The least they could do is get cards in good condition. I'd love to see the guy that gets the cards off the secondary market. Do they give him a $10 bill and say hey, go buy some garbage singles!

My daughter used her employee discount and came home with a couple more of the Fairfield boxes for me. To my amazement one of the cards inside was a 2000 Royal Rookies Miguel Cabrera rookie card - and it's autographed, #1333 of 4950! I never would have thought I could get a card like that in one of these repackages. I might need to have her go buy the rest of them.

So i happened to be at Target today and since we were talking about them i decided to buy one of the boxes, with 4 packs of cards and an guarenteed AU card. So the autograph card turned out to be a 2011 1st Bowman Chrome Card of Trey McNutt? Ok, so if i have lost anyone at this point i have no idea who that is, but if anyone needs him let me know and we can make a trade or you can just have him. I got a 2007 pack of UD, nothing special, 2014 Topps 2nd series, nothing special, 2014 Bowman Platinum, which i didnt even know they made and it came with some really shiny cards of people i have never heard of (again see my trade list since they are up for grabs, though one was a die cut card), and last was a 2014 A&G pack. Being mostly a vintage card collector i knew of A&G and have to admit the cards were nice quality and unique, but the thing that sold me was the card of Anthony Bourdain, the chef and my fantasy drinking idol. if you have never watched any of his shows on CNN, history channel, or Food Network you are missing out on some serious food porn and many hours of drinking on camera. So between that and my Stan Lee First Pitch card from the 2015 Topps Insert i am chilling for the next few days. Damn you Fairfield. Hi my name is Bill and I have become a card addict....

I find Bourdain to be one of the most fascinating personalities on television. Trey McNutt, not so much.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

The thing I like about this particular Fairfield offering is it's a combination of 100 loose cards and two unopened packs and they come in a handy Ultra Pro case that one can use to store the cards. The plastic case alone is worth a couple dollars. I've got quite a few of them stacked up and I'm brainstorming what sort of mini-collections I can start so I can use them up. Maybe that's the underlying motive in selling cards that way. Give a collector more storage space and he'll look for a way to fill it up.
BTW, of the eight of these I've bought, six of the 2014 Topps Heritage packs (I always make sure one of the two unopened packs is 2014 Topps Heritage) have contained a high number SP card. I'm not sure if the regualr rate of SPs is 3 out of every 4 packs, but that's what it's been so far with these repackages.

Sorry to break up the Bourdain love-in but I find him to be pedantic d-bag. But as a baseball fan, I look at it as he is still leading 2-1.

Can't comment on Bourdain as I have no idea of who he is or what sport he plays for me to have seen him. But I will say, I wish I had easy access to these Fairfield boxes, not only for the cards but the boxes (Canada does not have Fairfield stores). I have plenty of small sets I could use them for; sounds like they would hold the 100-150 card sets quite nicely.

sandyrusty - Just as an FYI, Fairfield isn't a store, it's a company that puts out repackaged cards. We find their products at many stores here in the States (Target, Five Below, Dollar General, etc.) so I'm guessing you might be able to locate them at similar stores in Canada,

I found Fairfield repacks at Walgreen's. Have to look in the small toy section.
