My main store is Sports Cards Etc. in Robinson Township, PA. It's about 20 minutes away from my house. I am good friends with the owners who recently took over the business. They are really good at stocking what customers are looking for, that's why they always stock a nice selection of soccer. I like this one the best because there are a great deal of packs on display that you can just pick out of the boxes. Higher end packs one must ask to see them.
Another one I have gone too is Baseball Card Castle in Cranberry Township, PA. This store does do some signings with local Pittsburgh Teams usually Penguins bring in the most people. The store is a bit further for me and does not have the variety of packs that my main store does.
Thirdly there is Kel's Sports Cards in Bridgeville, PA. I have not visited this one since they moved to a new location. I like this one because he usually has boxes of vintage stuff that you can go through. I have picked up a great deal of 60s and 70s hockey from Kel's.

The one that i have gone to is less than a mile from my house. Card Stadium is a great shop for sports and non-sports cards. coultless different collectables from helmets, starting lineup figures, team sets, ect. The owners great helpful. been going on and off now for more than 10 years. I generally only end up window shoping lol

Yup, that's my shop. I remember the Wheaton location. Liked the location close to downtown Silver Spring. Don't love the current location. It's a bit of a trek. Oh, how my wife and daughter had fun times there on my birthday and Christmas, as perhaps the only females to come in for months on end.
The main guy -- Chuck, I think -- isn't there anymore. Moved to Florida, I think. Gives the shop a different feel. Haven't found anything else here nearly as good, though.
AU Sports in the Chicago area is/was still the best, though.

Be it good or bad (depending on how much disposable income one has at any given moment) we only have 1 true card shop locally but in order to survive the times the owner has diversified into other (semi) related material. Then there is the plush toys and some other things that might make one shake their heads. I believe MTG is still a thing in these parts. Owner is friendly and always willing to converse with everyone. We also have a couple of "Dollar Store" varieties and of course we actually now do have a "Walmart" but you don't get to haggle and suffer from a rather limited selection.

Brian at Odyssey Comics and Cards in Katy, Tx, a Houston suburb. He took over ownership after the former owner died and he's taken it to a new level with lots of action for the new generation of card collectors and plenty of stuff for us old codgers.
He's honest and very fair - I'd say more than fair and willing to work on deals with you. He's very personable, too, and gets to know you as a customer and person.

My go to place on the Southside of Chicago is The Baseball Card King. They're great. 3 locations Oak Lawn, Plainfield and Downers Grove. Been to 2 of them. It's dangerous because one is a mile from my home. I usually only buy supplies from them unless something catches my eye. I'm sitting on a $50 gift certificate from Christmas that this thread just reminded me of.

Always looking for Blackhawk hockey, Notre Dame Football, White Sox and Bears Stuff. I have a plaque in my card room that says, "I could have been a millionaire but my mom threw out my baseball cards". How apropos!!! Collecting Chicago Blackhawks Hockey, Doug Wilson Hockey, Chicago Bears Older, Notre Dame Football in their college jerseys and Chicago White Sox.

Tried to convince my hobby shop guy that Lew Alcindor cards should be less expensive than Kareem Abdul-Jabbar cards due to the former being less successful than the latter.
Sadly, I was not successful.

I saw the best cards of my generation destroyed by creases, soft cornered hysterical edge wear, dragging themselves through the hobby shops at dawn looking for a top loader...
