I received cards from a trade in the mail today (January 12). They were mailed on December 9 from Michigan in a standard PWE and $1.20 postage. Fourteen cards packaged in 9-pocket sleeves between cereal box cardboard. Well packaged in my opinion. However someone at the post office must have felt the need to see if what was inside was rigid or not. Two holes were punched (with an awl?) destroying half of the cards. WTF??? When did the post office get the right to wilfully damage property?

If it's not on my tradelist, it's not available.

Everything I mailed on December 7 in NJ has not been delivered, cards, christmas cards and one bill payment. Dec 6 and 8 are find. Probably on the bottom of huge pile of mail sacks destined for the North Pole.

That is ridiculous! Under no circumstances should they be damaging the property or contents. They have no idea what is inside. That really sucks and I would be very mad about it. Unfortunately I don't think you will have much recourse bc a) you can't prove they did it and b) even if you could it is unlikely you would ever be able to find out who. Sorry to hear this bro.

That is horrible. The post office should be held accountable in situations like that.

The monetary loss was minimal. It's the principal of it that bothers me. Two small holes, about an inch and a half apart, in the middle of the envelope. Not forceful enough to go right through, just pierce the envelope, the cereal box and the pocket page and dent all the cards beneath. Two of the 3 pockets were targetted.

Sounds like your postman had an encounter with a sabertooth tiger. Probably not his fault at all.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

No surprise for the Canada Post. At least you got them. I mailed some off and all the guy got was a letter stating the address what not valid and could not be delivered. Now think about that one.
Then as we both press them it changed to the package was damaged. Then it changed to the package was empty. He went there and they refused to even give him the empty package and said it was the American postal servers problem and we would have to talk to them. I filed a missing report because he could not and as I know it would. it came back, the package has passed to Canada's post undamaged and the USPS is no longer responsible.
Packages going into Canada is like playing Russian roulette. It's not the first time I've run into problems with the Canada post and because of it, I do try to avoid sending trades there. My only exceptions are if you are up there and are the only one that has cards I need. Then I'll take the chance. I will jump on any hockey trade from up there. They are just hard to find here in the states.
They have gone downhill fast this last year. They are so bad they have hired a large outside company to deal with postal problems. So when you have a problem you're not talking to the Canada post. They hand it off to the other company and you get the 90 day run around then they call it dead.

What is that behind you!?! Oh, It's me! Looking at the cards you have, That I want. :)
