Hello Everyone,
With the ever growing community here I was thinking of a way we can celebrate big set completions, big pulls from packs, or even great deals that were made from trades or purchases. Through this forum I hope we can all share these goals &/or hits. With how positive this community is, I think we would all enjoy looking into the forums to see what big pull everyone got, what big set completion someone got this week, or what amazing deal someone scored on a card. I'm hoping we can make another long term forum with great interaction like the Pay it Forward forum that I love reading everytime someone adds onto. So let's all celebrate with time to celebrate!

I can start with an example: I was opening a box of 2020 Topps Update Series to try and complete my set and from the silver promo pack I got a redemption card for a 1985 Chrome promo orange parallel Christain Yelich Autograph. Easily the biggest hit I have ever had! This led to a serious almost of just looking at a redemption card and saying wow.

I like this idea, and that's a really nice pull!
This past Saturday I received a beautiful 54 topps Whitey Ford card that I bought for a fantastic price on Ebay. One of the most expensive single cards I've ever purchased (though I did not spend that much) and I couldn't be more pleased! Maybe soon I can finish up some of these mid 70s sets I've been working on ever since I joined TCDB last April, during which time I've completed 162 trades!

When I left the hobby back in 2000, I had given a lot of my cards to a friend of mine. I just gave him everything I had. Well, when he found out that I was back into cards, he gave back a big batch of cards to me. One of them was the 1993 SP Derek Jeter RC, and another was the 1991 Upper Deck SP1 Michael Jordan. I was thrilled, to say the least!
Tommy says he's going to give back a lot more soon, so I can't wait!

Cool idea! Hope we can keep it going.
I received a Redemption for a 2020 Topps Stadium Club Lone Star Signature to /25 of Bo Bichette back on Sept. 6 out of a blaster box from Meijer and it just showed up in today's mail. It's an on card auto and looked like the ink was still wet. By far my best pull as I'm a big collector of Bo.
Hope you all have great success in your pulls!

I'll work under the assumption here that we're talking recent good news. In that case, I just recently got the last card I wanted to complete my 1954 Bowman Phillies team set (Robin Roberts) and it was well within the price range I wanted it to be in, and is in really nice shape. I also recently expanded my Phillies collection backwards and obtained three 1950 Bowman Phillies cards - now currently my oldest cards in my collection (it had been some 1951 cards since about 1983). Only took me about 38 years to finally go back one year. Both of these things happened in February 2021.

I scanned more than 2300 cards in February. Not my record by any means but it's always nice to accomplish that much. 1128 were hockey cards.
Still working on updating the albums on the Cardboard History Gallery. Probably another 3 or 4 days before I finish and go back to scanning. Finished the By Season and By Teams section but still working in By Person, which always takes the longest.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. Sounds like a fun thread. I haven't gotten any new packs since December but I can start posting the hits when I buy the bix(es). As far as trades too many to list for every trade is a hit to me
I say the Best Buy I ever made was in 2003 where I bought a collection sight unseen for 500.00. It was 4 very large boxes that had completed sets like 1986 topps football x2 1981-1983 fleer complete sets 1987 topps complete set
as singles goes there were numerous pre war cards that included ty Cobb, babe ruth Ted Williams rocky covito including over 300 1909-1911 T206 cards. I stored them away and called the cops. They came to the house took photos because I was afraid I had bought stolen cards. After 6 months I called the investigating officer and he said the case is closed congrats they are now your cards.
at which time it took me almost 6 more months to go through the cards and put them up.
