Hi,
I am looking to start my hockey collection and am looking to spend less than $30. Can I have some suggestions since I do not know too much about hockey?
Thanks

Just find something you can connect on, especially if you're not a fan. I, for example, am not a fan but do collect some hockey because there are ties to my youth and to other collections.
- I collect Stan Mikita because he sponsored Sears athletic equipment which ties to me as a second grader thumbing through the Sears catalog and seeing him and others on various pages
- I collect a couple of all-star sets because I did for baseball, basketball, and football
- I collect Upper Deck hologram sets for the four sports
- I collect an insert set because the design had the team logo behind the player on the front of the card and I found that very appealing
So just go with some idiosyncrasies of your collection habits and you'll have fun.
By the way, trading with others is a great way to stay within your budget, mine is approximately the same amount.

As a hockey fan and only collecting Flyers cards. I say go with what you like. I have some hockey on my trade list. Feel free to look and see if anything looks like something you have to have and send me an offer. Im open for trades or sales.

If you don't want to spend more than $30, you can have lots of fun collecting junk wax with just that amount. Pro Set (Base), Pro Set Platinum and Upper Deck sets for that era have tons of cards to collect, are quite easy to find and still fun to collect (with or without their variations and errors).

Do you have other cards that you could put up for trade? I currently have 126 Hockey cards on my for sale/ trade list that I would gladly give up for the right trade. I'm sure by posting up doubles that you could part with, you could quickly find some people with hockey cards you could use to start the collection going.

If the Avalanche are your favorite team, start out small and try collecting the various Upper Deck brand base cards. Hold off on any huge rookie cards like Makar until they get back below $100

I have a lot of extra hockey cards up for trade.
91-92 Score Canadian Bilingual
91-92 Upper Deck
93-94 Upper Deck
94-95 Pinnacle
94-95 Stadium Club
Plus I am in America. If that matters to you with postage. To complete my hockey sets, I do have to do most of my trading with people in Canada. But Some people won't do a small trade crossing the border because of the postage. I myself have no problem with it. Every card receives is another card closer to completing a set. I will trade Baseball for Football for Hockey as long as it's a fair value trade I'll take it.
If you are interested do hit me up.

What is that behind you!?! Oh, It's me! Looking at the cards you have, That I want. :)

check out FB maketplace.. in my area, Philly, i am seeing junk wax lots at that price point...usually a good quantity. it helps that PHilly is a hocky city. other markets outside of NHL cities may be a bit more difficult to find.
