1989 FLEER CARD # 616 BILL RIPKEN Error F@@K Face Baseball REPRINT CARD! | eBay
I know these have been posted before. This just angers me that people continue to reprint cards to make money, while those of us who have orignials now will face scrutiny when we try to sell or trade an original. These fakes should have "reprint" somewhere visible on cards, and just cheapen the entire hobby. I look at these reprints and think that I could easily be duped if I was looking for an orignal. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Just got a trade offer for my original, which caused me to look on ReprintBay for others.

I agree completely with your comments. I've seen these fakes on Sportlots for over a year now and wonder if anybody is getting hoodwinked into thinking they are buying an original when the card is not stamped as a reprint. I suggested awhile back to the Sportlots administration that they open a new auction category just for these and all other reprints to alleviate any question a buyer might have regarding whether or not the card offered is an original.

Yup. It's one of the reasons I don't have this one yet. I'm afraid that even bidding on one not labelled as such the seller "forgot" to mark it a RP. I want the real thing, sorry y'all.

I recently got that very card in a large lot of cards. It was an obvious reprint, and it went through my shredder.

As one of our esteemed members prefers calling them; they're counterfeit.
I think ebay should police this, but that'd be eating into their pocketbook, too, so it's probably more a "nod, nod, wink, wink, nudge, nudge. Know what I mean?" Your situation.

I despise these counterfeits. Mercari is full of this sort of thing and there is no way to filter them out.

What features were Obvious?
I often wonder when people label something as a "reprint" if it is actually a reprint or just a very poor quality original.

I am guessing the texture was a dead giveaway since he had it in hand. Online idk what the dead giveaways are.
