For those sending trades into/out of Canada, there may delays starting Friday at 6am ET as CBSA border agents threaten job action.

In addition to airports and land borders, the job action would also slow down operations at commercial shipping ports, postal facilities and CBSA offices.

The work to rule has started. Hopefully the package and mail delays won't be too bad. 

Oh no that is no bueno. I hope it is quick because if it takes too long people can get in trouble and have issues with sites like eBay.

Your wording (probably Canadian terminology for what we call a strike in the US) reminded me of Tears for Fears "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" which I butchered on Karaoke Night on our last cruise.

A work to rule is when workers follow the rules and their job to the letter. No overtime, no special courtesies. Makes the bosses remember that workers usually go above and beyond what is on their job description.

A strike is when workers stop working completely. 

I once did karaoke to Paradise City by Guns N Roses. It almost certainly was worse (at least for the other patrons, I enjoyed it) than your karaoke night. 

After I posted I read up on "work to rule" which is certainly an interesting concept to keep the general public on your side (until production begins to effect them).

And, no, I'm thinking that we both can somewhat stay in tune, but evenso you'd be hard-pressed to be worse than my performance. Of course, without proof from either one of us we'll just share the "bragging rights" to this title.

i just decided to browse the Canada Customs website since the "work-to-rule' is in its early stages and at this time it seems to be affecting the Commercial side of things with reports of up to over 3 hours delay at some entry points. Some delays for what they refer to as "travellers flow" seem slightly less . I also read earlier where at some crossings the agents just may ask you ALL the questions in the handbook upon arrival at an entry point, so who knows how long that could take. Add to that 30 C (86 F) at a lot of crossings could also add a little to the drama. We'll see as the days go on and particularily as we welcome our US visitors this coming Monday who meet specific criteria to qualify as fully vacinated.

And just like that, the work disruptions are over. A tentative agreement has been reached. Let the cards keep flowing!
