I'm working on a trade with another site member and rightfully so he wants to see an image of the main card in the deal before confirming. I've scanned the card and have it saved but for the life of me I can't figure out how to add it to a message to him. Even if I try a cut and paste method it doesn't show up correctly. It somehow turns into an advertisement instead.

I create an album in Google Photos, then share the link for that album in the messages.

The image can't be attached or pasted into the message. It must be hosted somewhere and linked.

Both replies above are mostly correct since you HAVE to have it hosted on an online site (flickr, imgur, photobucket, etc.) first. But there is a workaround for putting images in messages here on TCDB. If you use the EMBED option for a link, the other member will only see the obscure linkage in your reply, but will see the image as soon as they click to reply to your message. The same thing works in the forums here if you post an EMBED link and then go back to EDIT your reply without actually changing anything. The image shows up where it should in either case. It would be nice if this 2nd step wasn't needed on TCDB, but at least there is a way around it.

Many of us use imgur to host. Once you've uploaded an image to imgur you need to access it and it'll give you this view:
Click on "Image Link" and you will use that to paste into your forum entry.
On the forum page find the Landscape icon (to the right of the Flag) and click it to open the image attachment step and you'll past the "Image Link" there. You'll add the ".jpg" suffix and change the width. I always use 500 for the size and it seems to work fine.
And that should work.
No need to edit your forum entry and members can see your picture and read the post without going anywhere else.

Ah, but this cannot be done on the transaction message - I missed that part of your post. I always send it via TCDB email if that's the case. Otherwise you have to share the link in the transaction message

I don't understand your instructions Adam. There is no option for "EMBED" in the post editor, link dialog or image dialog window.

You all are recommending the least easiest, most complicated methods. Don't bother with any link copying, embedding codes, etc. Just open the image in your hosting site, i.e., imgur. Right-click on the image and "Copy image". Then put your cursor in your message or forum body and paste (Ctrl+V).
When it comes to showing cards for a trade, I make a video and upload it on YouTube. Nothing better to show a card's condition. Scans and photos cannot always show every flaw. https://youtu.be/GCfwfEEEABY

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

I think the easiest thing would be to do it via email less steps and it is required for logging in.
