What sport, brand, and year/s cards, if any, do you shy away from/refuse to log any/many of bc of how many different variations of that card there are, and how tedious it is to search for? For me, it's prob Donruss baseball, early 90s

I thought this was going to be about a wood themed set like 87 topps baseball.
To answer your question. I dont shy away from any.

I try to log everything in. My biggest thing is the factory set items. 1190 Donruss, I think with the red border.

I logged all those variation as one kind and put on my profile that I do not track the variations.
If someone reaches out for a specific one I can look for them.
I do see others with similar notes on their profiles.

If it's a VAR that's "loggable" then I'll log it for those who collect them. I look at it as something that is mutually beneficial when trading. When I have offers I've sent or received I confirm them before accepting. It is tedious and in some cases nearly impossible for someone like me who is hoping cataract surgery will improve my sight enough in general, but for going through the rest of the Donruss (and Fleer) sets that I need to log VARs for.

I know I can't presently properly log some of the late 80's and early 90's Donruss. My sight doesn't seem to be good enough to be able to sift through the dot and no dot versions so until I can get a magnifier set up I just don't know. Aging is a real thing.

I was / am there. I bought one of those magnifier / light from Staples. It has been a blessing for weak eyes. All of my cards logged on here other than the 1990 Fleer are properly logged (99.9% sure) because of the light I bought. I don't collect the individual sets other than the 1989 Donruss set (4 VAR) only because I was the main provider of the VAR confirmation process. I sorted them for others who do collect these VAR and have had plenty of trades because of this. So many have commented that they are tired of trading for a VAR only to receive the wrong one. I do my best to be 100% accurate though we (most of us anyhow) admit that we aren't perfect.

I use a magnifier app with a flash function that has worked wonders. It's a bit clunky and requires me to awkwardly hold it and maneuver it with my neuropathic hands, but eventually (maybe, I'm cheap) I may purchase a hands-free apparatus, but until then that's what I use.
