OK, I normally don't tell what was in the package, because I don't want anyone to think "It was a little bit" or "that was a lot" or anything negative. EVERY PIF is loved, wanted, and very much appreciated. Whether is a silly 1987 card that I should have 100 of, or 30 cards, or 100 cards, there's no such thing as a good PIF vs. a bad PIF. (Like a bad PIF could even be a thing. Let's a say a good one vs a lesser one. And I really don't believe in lesser ones. They all rock.
I'm going against that today.
I got an unexpected envelope from one Mr. Gunny. I recognized the name and address as we've had previous dealings. He surprised me on this one. It was thin, yet larger than normal 2.5 x 3.5. So I opened it with much anticpiation, not having a clue what oversized card (or cards) may be inside, as I never put those on my want lists.
When I pull out the 5x7 top loader, I see a BEAUTIFUL Exhibit Jim Konstanty (Phillies) staring at me. Is my experession. I am in awe, that someone would send me such a card. It's in great shape (I haven't removed it from the top loader yet to examine it, but it looks darn near perfect). It's my FIRST Exhibit card. I don't know exactly when this particular one was issued, so it may not precede my oldest cards (1951), but Konstanty played with the Phillies from 1948 to 1954. So it's from that time frame.
Gunny, thank you. Thank you VERY much. His note says "Ithought you might like it". Beyond like, dude!!!
Thanks, I hope my heartfelt gratitude can be detected through this post.
