Nice pick up.
My wife had always been tolerant and cooperative, but not into it. She goes to my local card shop every birthday and Christmas and fills things in my want list.
And I love her for it.

I'm very lucky, my wife understands. But at the same time the scattered cards gets to her. In the past I've had to sell some cards and misc collectible toys to pay for stuff, so IMO it's not 'crap' if it helps your family. So my wife gets it, and I'm VERY thankful for that! Besides. My response to why cards? Well, I'm not in bars, or drunk, or on drugs, or a politician, need I go on? Lol

Congrats C2C! Vintage is always a great addition, esp. when it's a first of something and even more so when you get it for the price you want to pay.
I got a nice little (completely random) surprise on Thanksgiving. My nephew actually gave ME a card, instead of the other way around. It wasn't anything expensive or spectacular, but it was a card I didn't have. It hurt a little that his reason for giving it to me was "b/c he doesn't really collect football anymore", but the fact that NASCAR cards are part of his collecting interest (along with the TCG games like Pokemon) did make me feel good.
For those wondering, the card was a 1999 SP Authentic Muhsin Muhammad base card. That is my 112th card of my favorite Panthers WR. When he retired before the 2010 season (after 14 years in the NFL), he was the team's all-time leader in receiving yards and was tied with Steve Smith in receiving TD's. Smith passed him in both categories before ending up with the Ravens a couple of years later. Muhammad was the 22nd player in NFL history to amass over 11,000 receiving yards!

My wifey is the best!! She never gets upset about the hobby, like a few she actually embraces it. She was so proud of me quitting smoking and burning up over 400 a month on that, that she has no issues with the spending I do on this, MAYBE 80 a month over the year. Plus she is a sports lover too, a CFL freak and we cheer for the same NHL team. Our basement is blue, orange, green and white all over. Narcise and Fantuz, Ranford and friends hang all over the walls. Plus pulling McD RCs and Gretzky autos gets me a good ol kiss on the lips, "For the boy" she always says with a wink. Just not sure if she means me or Jr. =D

Good point. There are far worse ways to spend money. And for those of us who collected as kids, what trouble might some of us have gotten into if we didn't have a nice hobby to keep us off the streets? We're the one who didn't outgrow it, I guess.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

To all the wives out there. If you husbands cards take up too much space, feel free to send me a personal message. I will give you my address and you can send me the cards and I will see that they get properly disposed of. Yes, that's it "disposed" of. I am making this offer only to save your marriages.

Hey Bossman, share with me in messages or swap contact indo bcz I'm a Single Father, Disabled Vet&Civilian toof, more of latter but still, I live in a mancave!!! I usually have walls full of memorabilia and display cases full of Diecasts, Graded Cards & Cuts and my BAMA theme paint Roll Tide Roll. I literally have hardly anyone to share finds or gems I rediscover in my own collection of 65k+ cards and things like autographed balls, jerseys and pics. Here in BAMA there aren't any Hobby Shops in 160 Sq miles from my home in Tuscaloosa. It's hard to connect to local collectors because the card shops are where people meet and build a relationship of trading and collecting together. I've been sending friend requests to people who I've interacted with here to build a relationship with so to talk the hobby and other interests. Being 45 & Disabled in an area in the wood's here where hardly anyone is under 65 years old is boring so I tend to get long winded but I like to be understood and the context being taken correctly bcz many today will hate you for using an emoji wrong, which blows my mind.
I like the cards and nice score on the eBay bcz I literally snipe auctions all day here to score items that are pennies oh the dollar and are legit. Have a blessed weekend ahead.
God Bless,
R.C Burns
Send me a pal request or I will you, same for anyone who wants to........

Hi bamaman, I sent you a friend request then looked at your friend list. You have 85 friends now. Isn't that awesome? People on this site are just really good people.
