Well, well...how nice. The "exception" rule rules again.

This actually cracked me up; not sure why, but thanks for the chuckle
All joking aside, Admin's site, Admin's rules. If they want to make exceptions for anything, they certainly have that liberty, as I believe was mentioned before. My only concern is that this doesn't lead to a slippery slope of poor pictures being submitted by other users.
I too applaud Rinny1 - a) for photography skills, b) for going about this the right way and with the right attitude, and c) for showing that you'll continue to do it the right way - seeking Admin approval for other exceptions.

I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.

Right, Jason. And I'm not an Admin here. But every week, from 8-5 every Monday thru Friday, I am an Admin. It's how i pay my bills. I'm pretty strict with enforcing rules, but I'm also aware that there are occasionally exceptional cases where "bending" the rules gives a more desirable result.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

I have sipped coffee through the entire thread until now. Interesting decision. I would agree that if a person set up an expensive camera to take a perfectly vertical photo in true color, nobody would know the difference only to say wow "where'd ya buy your scanner!! I WANT one!!" LOL Then the truth comes out. I agree with the way he went about the whole idea and maybe its an avenue that gets used a bit more in time. I would say any and all photo cases continue to be an Admin only arena. I know it will never be an issue here because it took me three years just to get brave enough to use the site let alone tip the cart .............. DAVID. ;)
Bahahahahahahaha.

I’m new here, so my opinion counts for very little I’m sure, but have been a little surprised by the adherence to an absolute “rule” for the most part versus focusing on quality. I certainly realize opening up photos would be an absolute nightmare but on the contrary to earlier stated opinions I think that may actually be short sighted in the long run. I’m surprised there’s still apparently so many people who even own a scanner in an increasingly mobile world. CamScanner and similar apps do a wonderful job at creating high quality images when done right. That’s all. Regardless I applaud the openness here! Well done

Your key words "...when done right...". Not always the case and allowing one may make others think, if he could why not me? I hope we don't see a flood of pictures show up; time will tell.

If anything good sir I am still with you, however if papa allows something as an exception there is nothing we can do. =)

Somebody looking to break the rules could have done it just as easily before this came up, as they could now.
