Friends of the database,
If you've read the forums at some point in the past 2 or 3 weeks, you're probably as horrified at what you've seen as I am. Without naming names, there has been hostility toward one another, downright animosity, and people writing about inflicting violence upon others.
These elements were not present here when I joined and when I started posting on the forums. There are plenty of other places on the Internet that has these elements, and I was proud to be on the Trading Card Database where that stuff didn't exist. In fact, for the large part (with the exception of a few scam artists who incurred the wrath of the general populace here), there has been little "bad stuff" on the forums as recent as about 4 months ago.
Quite simply, this cannot continue. People will go away, and it will drive the site into the ground. We are better than that, and we have to continue to display how we are better than that. Let's leave the "bad stuff" that has gone on in the last couple months in the past. Let's not revisit it anymore.
We need to leave the animosity behind. We need to not make physical threats to others, whether they are members here or not. We need to remember that we are a very small group (relatively) out of billions in the world.
Admin has already shut down some forum posts because they were inciting ill-will towards one another. Let's not allow it to become where Admin feels the need to block any individuals from posting or outright shuts the forums down. (There are way too many knowledge transfers that occur on the forums, the site really needs them.)
OK folks, let's get our act together. Let's stop this nonsense. Let's come back together as the cohesive unit that we were very recently.
Thank you,
Dan
PS: Please no replies that name any names, or "hear, hear" type responses.
