I plan to go to the next Chicago National, which is 2020 if I remember right.  Maybe I'll meet him.  Or maybe he will hide from me.  Or maybe I will pay $100 for his autograph.  I'm leaning toward #2.

I will elimate myself as a Tigers fan collector...I make to many boo boos to be ADMIN!

Thanks, TwinKiller, for raising this thread up. As a newish member, I too found myself wondering about the identity of Admin. Almost all of my thoughts were laid out by someone earlier in this thread and I chuckled when reading them. I had a vision of someone like the all-powerful Oz behing the curtain. I too fear that posting something like this has put me on a surveillance list and I'll be eliminated for getting too close to the truth. (I'm nowhere close.) I also figured he (looks like it's a "he" based on earlier posts) walked among us with a regular account. The way some speak with such authority on certain posts and such certainty on what enhancements will or won't be implemented makes me think "hmmmm". Haha. 

If it truly is one person running the show, that's pretty impressive and I thank them for their efforts. That does beg the question - what sort of contigency plan is in place should something happen to this person or if they no longer have the desire to do what they've been doing? There's been so much great work done from what I can tell that I can't believe it would all go away.

Dave S. has pretty good insight, and Admin is a good guy that has handled many IRs, bug issues and requests for me and continues to offer clarification and advice as needed. All I can say is Admin doesn't hide under another account. When you see him, you see him.

I think Dan answered sometime last week, but there are backup things in place if anything should happen and the site will be OK.

Also, a couple of other things to build off of Ed's post - 

1) Admin is, in fact, a he.

2) He does have his own account besides the "Admin" account. However, it is not the individuals that you are thinking of who seem like an "authority". Seriously. Generally, the knowledge comes from direct interaction with Admin regarding different site topics. That's why you'll see "Admin has stated..." or why someone can comfortably say that there are backup plans in place should something happen (because it's come up before, and they actually asked Admin).

I know there are some members out there who truly think that Dan (vrooomed) or Ed (BigEd76) or...I don't know, probably some others users, are actually Admin, but they aren't. I promise.

I should have hunted him down at the 2021 National like I had planned.  Never even crossed my mind at the time, as this is a really old topic being brought back up.

I was bored so I was looking through the 2018 top threads and this one was the 3rd most popular. Very interesting.

All I know is that, when I try to log in as Admin, his password is not 'Admin' or 'admin'. Therefore, he is crafty.

Because it is 'password'
