Joe, that would make perfect sense (separate, not parallels), as that is how the site has handled similar releases among the various sports.
Also to those going through the IRs, there are a TON in there right now for these. Depending on the complexity of moving things, we may be able to do it without Admin's assistance, but it may be much quicker to get Admin involved. Please allow me to explain (you only need to read further if you plan on ever helping "move" cards from one set to another).
The process takes a few steps:
- Create "target" set (this is the eventual home for the set)
- Move any images from old set to target set
- Move any collection info from old set to target set
- Delete old checklist and set
Steps 2, 3, & 4 all require Level 8 approvals (but no Admin). Having just worked on several 24-card sets where I followed this method, I can tell you, it can get very confusing if more than one set is worked on at a time. (I was writing things down!) Also, if you don't have L8s checking the Needs Approval area of the IR on a regular basis, your requests could sit for a while. I also was about to attempt work on a 100-card set (it could have been more cards in the set, like 150), but every single card had collection info. I contacted Admin, and with giving specific directions, Admin was able to handle that set. Because of that experience, I would recommend that if we would need to move more than 30 cards in a single set, we should pass the request on to Admin. That said, the sets need to meet one of the following criteria for this to be able to occur:
- Cards have numbers and the numbers match from the old set to the target set - or -
- Cards have names that match if the set is unnumbered
If the set is NNO and the names don't match (like the old set has the English words but it's moving to an Italian set and the words are already in Italian, there is no way to map one card to the other. In this case, each card would have to have a separate IR to move the collection info (and which card they are going to would need to be specified in it!). Talk about a time-consuming task. Let's hope this isn't one of the scenarios we face here.
In this case, with the sheer volume of IRs, before doing anything on them, let me contact Admin, and see if these can be handled quickly or if it would be preferred for the members to handle these.
