Hello! After a bit of a hiatus, my eight-year old son has drawn me back into the hobby again. I used to be quite active on Zistle and I uploaded my entire collection over there. I exported it a couple years ago when it looked like that site was dying, and it looks like this is the place to be now. Is there a way to do a major upload of my collection to this site?
I looked through old threads and most of them were complaints from Zistle users who were unable to do this. Those posts were about two years old though, so maybe something has changed? After hours and hours of logging my collection over there, I'd hate to repeat that effort. Thanks and my son and I look forward to doing some trading on here!

Unfortunately I don’t think that has changed yet.

No there is no way to upload from an excel or the like if that is what you are referring. However ask in the forums for some tricks for quicker uploads. The first I can offer is when you navigate to a specific base set click on collection summary, then use the 'Add Multiples" link. Do the base set wants or traders first, then do it again for the opposite. then you can use the drop down menu to navigate to the insert and parrallel sets. Just make sure the drop down for "Collection" or "Tradelist" is toggled to the proper need.
And welcome to the site. This place is by far the best on the net for card collectors.

I have been requesting this since I joined, and I don't have an export from anywhere, I just see how much easier it could be to get the info in if we could import set by set. I realize there is absolutely NO WAY to do it en masse (total collection) as the various checklists we have do not match what other sites have (we're usually more comprehensive).
But if we were able to do an import based on the card numbers present in the set, I really think we would have more activity in the collections.

First off welcome back to the hobby especially that it is to be with your son and welcome to the best site by far for card collectors. As previously said, no there is no known method to transfer a collection from any where else. But you are coming tot he site after there have been many added features tomake the overall task easier.
The extent of your task ahead depends on what kind of a collector you are - sets, players, ERR/VAR, etc. As well, are you going to be looking to trade with other members on the site. Some of us have used the Multiple Collections feature and are making good use of it in trackingour collections, wants and traders. This most recent thread has a few ideas in it you may wish to explore. https://www.tradingcarddb.com/Forum.cfm/Page/B/ID/0/?MODE=VIEW&ThreadID=15218&C=17
I do recommend that you have a solid game plan on how you plan to list your cards on here. Aftermuch reorganizing, I have begun to recommend making the digital collection reflect your physical collection. I am sure as most of us in the hobby, you have sometimes wondered where a card you know you have could possibly be. Organized to reflect each otehr, much of this will go away.
But enough as I am sure you are anxious to get going. I do recommend you navigate around the site to get familiar with it. There are many tools available, good information in the FAQ and in the Forums. And if you have a question on How to?, just ask in the Forums. There are many members here who are willing to help.
Look at it this way, you will get a chance to go through your whole collection after leaving it for 2 years. Enjoy it.

If your cards are organized numerically, the "Add from here" feature is very useful in sets where you have most, but not all, of the cards. And complete sets can be added en masse, with or without ERRs and VARs. Just go back when you're done and make sure the right version got added. Just because a card is designated as 5A on others sites, it's not necessarily 5A here.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Welcome back to the hobby. I too am a Zistle Refugee. I've been here for nearly 8 years the first few I was juggling between Zistle and here, until Zistle got sued by Beckett, stopped updating checklists and the eventual buyout. I stuck there for a little bit after that but eventually stopped adding to my lists there and slowly faded from the forums.
Others have answered your uploading question. Short anwser as they said No. The subject has been discussed several times around here.
For complete sets and sets that you have a huge amount of probably the quickest thing to do would be to go to whichever set you are working on, go to collection summary and from the choose an action dropdown choose "add all cards to your collection (Without ERR/VAR) for sets you have completed. For your near complete sets or ones with not a huge number of cards left to add you can do the same thing and then go through the checklist and uncheck the ones you don't have or move them to your wantlist.
