If it wasn't corny, I wouldn't be here. At least that's what my wife says. And welcome to the best trading card site ever.

Welcome to the site.
I must disagree with many of the posters in the this thread. Your post was completely corny. But you say that like it's a bad thing. It's not! I love corny, if it's accurate. And it was very accurate.
Enjoy the site and the people here. Some of them are great.

Welcome to the database forum and welcome back to the hobby.
Yeah most "hobby" people tend to be what some call (or used to call) "investors" not really "collectors". People who are only looking to make a fast buck on trading cards. In recent years it has been more the idea of "flipping:. Some people have done OK with that.
If they have been in the "hobby" long enough they know that approx. the mid 1980s to the mid 1990s (give or take a few years) was "The Junk Wax" era. Some members here don't like to use the "J" word as it doesn't apply to trading cards. I usually try to just say the overproduction or overproduced years sometimes I'll add in Super Overproduced Years.

I collect: Baseball, Football, Hockey, Mostly Vintage pre1980, My Homie teams - Washington/Baltimore Teams Senators (Twins, Rangers), Expos/Nationals, Redskins, Capitals, Bullets/Wizards - HOFers - Non-sport (mostly TV shows and movies). My Trade List is very much a work in progress CaptKirk42s Trading Card Blog Curly W Cards Strive For '65 YouTube klandersen42

I think this site is the only thing that keeps me in the hobby. I've reached the point where I don't think Topps and Panini deserve my money. But I still enjoy the cards I already have, and picking up stuff in an occasional trade or purchase, so I spend quite a lot of time here on the site.
-------------------------------
I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.
