I was entering some cards I bought in a craigslist lot this morning. Working on 97 Fleer, I had about 70 cards. I noticed the total price was $50.00. Seemed high as they were mostly commons. I scroll through looking at the prices of what I had. One card stood out at $28.00. It was a David Arias rookie card. Hmm never heard of the guy must be someone jacking with the pricing. I click on the card and see a bunch of ebay listing confirming the price and wait what's this? This is David Ortiz. I had no idea he went by another name early on. Never would have discovered this if I had the pricing feature turned off. It would have just gone in the box with the rest. So the system may not be perfect but it has it's uses!

That’s why I like the pricing feature and wish it’d show on the trades if you want. I traded a $14 card in a other wise common type trade because it didn’t seem like anything special when I looked at the offer.

I completely agree. If it hasn’t been on there that should be added to the new feature tracker. 

I agree that in cases such as you two pointed out it can help, but as we've gone round and round on before there are too many factors that go into a price, the most frustrating of which is that pricing is self-governed with little to do to control that aspect as it now stands.

Card pricing can be useful in setting up an inventory, especially for documentation and proof for insurance purposes.  It should not be the end all and be all for serious Sports Trading Card Collectors (like most of Us are in this electronic forum & community).  Before putting in a price for a card, I usually check at least three sources (including actual recent sales or listings on both eBay & COMC), plus I even succumb to checking the Beckett Almanac and average between the Hi and Lo prices that are listed.  Yet, with that being said, each and every Sports Trading Card is an enjoyment and realm of therapeutic leisure, on to itself!
