After seeing recent IRs requesting "DC" notes on cards to mark them as die cuts, I noticed this site hasn't really noted many cards as "DC" for Die Cut and I was wondering if there was any particular reason why? My first thought was "well we assume all cards within a 'Die Cut' set name are die cut so we don't need to put a Note1 on every card", but that would apply to so many other things on the site like autographs, memorabilia cards, serial numbered cards, etc. Any reason why this type of card has been overlooked? I can't think of any insert or parallel on this site where all the cards are noted with "DC".

AU, MEM, and SN cards are actually parts of special reports members can run set up by the site. These notes need to be there for the reports to pick them up. There is no report for die-cuts (nor has there been a demand for it or I'm sure Admin would have added it). It does open up a whole rabbit hole of where do we stop with adding notes to cards. Should we note all cards that are on acetate? Refractors? Extra thick? Specify points of thickness? See where this leads?
I think any cards that have had "DC" added to the Note field shouldn't - with the exception of die-cut cards that are part of a set where the majority of the cards are not die-cut.

I checked the Glossary and it's only on a few insert cards but no whole sets, so it isn't a huge cleanup effort or anything.
I'll close out the IRs that requested the Note.

Bob, I think the point is that if the set name is "Home Run Kings Diecut", there is probably no need to add a DC to each individual card. But if it's flagship SP Championship Baseball and only the 1st 30 cards of the set are diecut, a note would make sense. (Oh wow, what if Upper Deck made a set and called it SSSP Championship, just to mess with us?!)
I can personally think of some examples of diecut insert sets that don't mention it in the title or in the notes, because i found some just yesterday. Never crossed my mind to request a fix though, since it's not a parallel and they don't exist both ways.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

"Die Cut" should be in the insert/parallel set name, not in the Note of each card.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

I don't care where it is but I collect Die-cut sets so I would love to be able to search for that. Acetate cards as well, you have one vote from me for each.

Just put "die cut" in the Search box. In Baseball there are 2,123 results.
