Is there a way for us to request the HOF designation to cards? Jake "The Snake" Roberts was inducted into the PWI and WWE Hall of Fame yet he isn't designated that way yet. He was inducted into the PWI in 2020 and WWE in 2014

On the player page, click Edit Info...then on the right, under "See any inaccuracies with this entry?" click and describe,

I updated his player page with the designation. This site currently only recognizes the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame, not the WWE HOF.

I realize the site doesn't use the WWE HOF as the official determination for that designation. However, after doing some research, it would appear that the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame is maybe no longer operating. I went to the website www.pwhf.org and it has expired and can't be accessed. I saw on another site that it is listed as closed in June 2022. Now maybe this is temporary, but they didn't inducte anyone this year. I hate to suggest we need to pick a new official HOF to determine who gets designated, but we might have to do just that. Unfortunately, the most active HOF right now is the WWE or the George Tragos/Lou Thesz Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame. That particular HOF inducted one person this year and gave out one award to Jim Ross this year as well. Maybe the site should consider using a combination of HOFs to determine who gets designated and then on their profile page, list each HOF they have been inducted into. Just a suggestion since the PWHF seems to be a pandemic casualty.

People have submitted HOF designation suggestions to the New Feature Tracker (Country Music, Skateboarding, etc.). If someone hasn't already suggested a new wrestling hall of fame (since it appears that the one currently recognized one is now defunct), you could consider submitting a replacement/supplemental one as a new feature. That's the only way I know of to try and get new HOF designations added to the site.
Edit: When I refer to "HOF designations" here, I mean which halls of fame the database recognizes that can then be flagged on a PID page by members with the required permission level. Hopefully that was clear from the jump, but I just wanted to come back and clarify in case it wasn't.

There is an International Pro Wrestling Hall in Albany, NY that just started up. Stone Cold Steve Austin headlined their 2nd class.
https://www.prowrestlinghall.org/
FWIW, The Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame, granted it exists on the WON head honcho, Dave Meltzer's hard drive, tends to be considered THE HALL among wrestling enthusiasts.
Mostly due to a BBWAA type voting body made up of journalists, performers themselves, etc. As well as ballots that are structured similar to the BBWAA, where you can stay on forverer as new info comes to light, and drop off due to lack of overall support.

Yup. I forgot to mention that only the Admin is allowed to mark the HOF notes.
Probably due to sheer number of accolades someone can accumulate, as seen with pro wrestling!
Also what would stop fans of franchises noting all the various members of their team's HOF or other like setup to honor past greats (ie the Yankees' Monument Park).

Actually, those with the permissions to edit profiles can add HOF info to profiles. The catch there is that Admin is the only one who can designate which HOFs are recognized by the site. You'll need to use the Contact Us link to send a message to Admin to get him to consider adding one or more of these other HOFs for the site's purposes. I strongly suggest you name all the different HOFs out there, and give strong supporting reasons why certain ones should be considered and why the others shouldn't. When presented with all the facts / evidence / support, it allows him to make a quicker informed decision (just my 2 cents after working with him on here for almost a decade).

I was involved in helping choose the first (now out of business) HOF he decided on, many years ago. I think his deciding factors were that it was NOT controlled by one promotion, and he may have considered that it was an actual HALL of fame, and not just a list of fame (no physical location to visit).

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

I understand the logic of not choosing the WWE HOF because it is controlled by the company and not likely to inducte those who didn't work there. They are attempting to open a physical location at some point which is the stated goal of the WWE's Most Wanted Treasures show. I too am worried that the company will be extremely biased to only current and former WWE wrestlers and not any who contributed to the overall creation of professional wrestling. That is why I wonder if we couldn't designate a couple of them as "official" keeping the PWHF and adding the George Tragos/Lou Thesz Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame as resources also. At least the George Tragos/Lou Thesz Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame has a physical building for now, but who knowsfor how long since it is in Waterloo, Iowa which isn't exactly a tourist destination. Sad that something so popular in culture can't get an officially recoginized Hall of Fame that won't be biased to its own employees and just inducte overall contributors to the profession.
